Kngine Performance
After reviewing many studies, we have learned that Website Performance is important, especially for the search engines. Because the users won't wait 4 or 5 seconds to get the results, even if the results is rich or more relevant.
Performance Impact:
In many performance studies done by Kngine, Google, and Microsoft , we have learned that performance has a great impact on the user satisfaction, user searches per day, and revenue. For example, every additional 200ms delay will impact the user searches per day by about 0.3% after first week, and 0.5% after three weeks. See the next table for more details:

Less searches per day equal less user satisfaction, and less user satisfaction could make the users to switch to another Web search engine. The numbers mean strong negative impact.
While Kngine results is quite different, usually when our users search about facts, information, or question answers they will not need to open another pages except for more detailed information, but also the performance still important for Kngine.
Kngine Performance:
We performed the mentioned experimental study on a small number of Kngine users in January 2010, also we collected the performance related feedbacks to evaluate the performance in order to know our status, and find any bottlenecks for future improvements.

The Performance Stats:
The average response time (required time to prepare the results) for Kngine is: 371ms.
But the server performance is not the whole story, the client-side (Java-script, response size, http requests, HTML layout, CSS, and GZIP compression) have also important role in the page speed and responsiveness. In Kngine, we also have optimized the client-side to make Kngine faster and more responsive. Kngine results page score in analysis tools like YSlow, and PageSpeed is usually between 89% to 95%.
Kngine Performance vs. Others:
We are glad to say that Kngine performance is head to head with the world most popular Web search engine's such as: Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Also we are glad to say that Kngine performance is better than any web search engine in MENA.
